Unidentified chaoyangopterid pterosaurs have appeared in 4 episodes of Planet Dinosaur, "Lost World", "Fight for Life", "New Giants" and "The Great Survivors". They are depicted as scavengers and nest raiders, they lived from the Late Cretaceous periods in Africa, North America, South America and Europe. It's possible that the one in "Lost World" is Alanqa (which didn't have a crest however), a species of azdarchid pterosaur that was found in the Kem Kem Beds of North Africa, while the one in "New Giants" might be Lacusovagus, a chaoyangopterid pterosaur known from Brazil.
